Privacy Policy

1. What information we collect

When you register as a player or use the platform, we may collect:

• Identity information — your name and Google account display name.
• Contact information — your mobile phone number and Google email address.
• Profile information — date of birth, batting style, and bowling style.
• Match statistics — runs scored, wickets taken, overs bowled, catches, and other in-match performance data recorded by match scorers.
• Usage data — the teams and tournaments you create or participate in, and match records you save.
• Authentication data — a unique user ID issued by Google Sign-In (Firebase Authentication). We do not store your Google password.

2. How we use your information

• Player discovery — your name and mobile number are visible to other signed-in users so that team managers can search for and add you to squads.
• Statistics tracking — your match performance data is aggregated into your public player profile and displayed on leaderboards.
• Tournament management — your name is shown in fixture lists, standings, and scorecards within any tournament you participate in.
• Live scoring — when a match you are participating in is scored live, your name and in-progress statistics are visible to anyone with the match's live room code.
• Platform operation — we use authentication data to control access and ensure only the match creator can modify a live score.

3. Data visibility to other users

Oveli Cricket is a collaborative platform. By registering a player profile you acknowledge and agree that the following information is visible to all signed-in users:

• Your player name
• Your mobile number (displayed for team-discovery purposes)
• Your batting and bowling style
• Your cumulative match statistics (runs, wickets, averages, etc.)
• The teams and tournaments you are associated with

Your date of birth and email address are stored for profile purposes but are not displayed publicly to other users.

4. Data storage and security

• All data is stored in Google Firebase (Firestore and Realtime Database), which is hosted on Google Cloud infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit.
• Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication via Google Sign-In — we never receive or store your Google password.
• Access to your match and tournament data is controlled by Firebase Security Rules that restrict writes to authenticated owners.
• Live scoring data is stored temporarily (up to 24 hours after the last update) in the Realtime Database and is automatically cleared.

5. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third-party advertisers or marketing companies. Your data may be accessible to:

• Google / Firebase — as the underlying infrastructure provider, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Other registered users — as described in Section 3 above.
• Legal authorities — if we are required to disclose information by law, court order, or to protect the safety of users.

6. Your rights

• Access — you can view all information stored in your player profile at any time from the Players tab.
• Correction — you can update your name, mobile number, date of birth, and playing style from your player profile at any time.
• Deletion — you can delete your player profile from the Players tab, or delete your whole account and everything on it from Account › Delete account in the mobile app. See Deleting your account for exactly what is removed.
• Withdrawal of consent — deleting your player profile constitutes withdrawal of consent for future data processing. Existing match records may retain non-identifiable statistics.

7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the mobile app, without asking anyone: open Account (your avatar, top right) › Delete account, confirm your password or Google account, and confirm. It happens immediately — there is no grace period and no undo.

Deleted straight away:

• Your account and sign-in credentials.
• Your player profile, photo and career record.
• Your mobile number, and the lookup entry that let people find you by it.
• Everything you follow, your notification settings and your saved location.
• The notification tokens for every device you signed in on.

Kept, and why: matches that have already been scored keep their scorecards. A scorecard records a game played by up to twenty-two people and is stored on the match itself, not on your account — removing one participant would alter other people's records of a game they played. Those figures stay under the name they were scored with and are no longer linked to any account, profile or contact details, so they cannot be traced back to you through this platform.

If you cannot reach the app — a lost phone, or a sign-in that no longer works — contact us using the details in section 11 and we will delete the account on request, after confirming it is yours.

8. Children's privacy

Oveli Cricket is intended for users aged 13 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has registered, please contact us so we can remove their data.

9. Cookies and local storage

The platform uses browser local storage (not cookies) to save an in-progress match draft so scoring can be resumed if the page is refreshed. No tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies are used.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
